GB & I captain Sam Torrance has vowed he may have to play rival Seve Trophy captain, Jose Maria Olazabal at snooker should the event in a draw.
Unlike the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, if the Seve Trophy were to end in a tie later today in Versailles each captain will have to pick two players for a sudden-death Foursomes encounter.
There’s never been a tie in the prior seven matches but there’s every likelihood of a first later today (SUN) on the course located on the outskirts of Versailles.
“I just hope it isn’t five all tomorrow and I have to pick two players to play foursomes to play for the cup. It could easily finish 14-14,” said Torrance smiling.
“I’ll maybe have to play Olly (Olazabal) at snooker instead.”
Torrance’s other concern is the fitness of Simon Khan with a back injury sidelining the Englishman from Saturday’s play.
Torrance has put Khan out last today and hoping his team will have wrapped up the trophy should he be forced out that would see the match tied against Italy’s Francesco Molinari.
