Rory McIlroy may be in the ‘bad books’ for not contesting this week’s Seve Trophy but he’s delighted one fan.

Indiana’s Michael Crew met McIlroy last route on route to victory in the 2012 BMW Championship at Crooked Stick, and he is also a fan of Upper Deck trading cards and memorabilia, with whom McIlroy has a signing deal.

At a recent signing, McIlroy took time to pen a letter to Crew.

The letter was delivered last Wednesday and it reads:

Michael,

It was great meeting you in Carmel at the BMW. It was a great event and I was lucky enough to walk away with the title. All the best to you and your family!
