Padraig Harrington Queues For A First Time In His Life In McDonalds.

Triple Major winning Padraig Harrington certainly suprised patrons in the local McDonalds here in Inverness.

Harrington and long-time caddy, Ronan Flood dropped in for a McFlurry but Harrington found himself the centre of attention with Highland golf fans wanting the Irishman’s autograph and also a pic with the popular Irishman.

And while Harrington confessed it was the first time he’d ever queued in McDonalds he likened it all part of the buzz of the Scottish Open.

“I was trying to keep a low profile but that didn’t happen,” said Harrington.

“But I ended up signing a few autographs and having a few pictures taken.

“That’s the great thing about events like the Irish Open and Scottish Open because when you go to places like Portrush and here in Inverness everyone is talking about the golf tournament.

“Here in Inverness there is alreay a buzz about the golf and they really apprecaite the golf here in this part of Scotland.  There’s a little bit of excitement.

“I used to describe it in Ireland as you can go into a local petrol station three or four miles away from the venue, and you’re likely to be asked for a ticket or something like that.  It’s a bit like that here in Inverness.  Everybody is trying to figure out how to get a ticket to the tournament.”
