Colin Montgomerie could not have asked for a better grouping for the first two rounds of this week’s US Senior Open.

Organisers have grouped the Scot, who is making his tournament debut, alongside the legendary duo of Tom Watson and Bernhard Langer.

Watson is a winner of five Open Championships, two Masters and the 1982 US Open.  He also is the 2014 USA Ryder Cup captain.

Langer became the first German to win a Major in capturing the 1985 Masters and then repeated the victory in 1993.  He also captained the European Team to victory in 2004 at Oakland Hills.

Monty is returning to the States after sharing ninth place on his senior debut in last fortnight’s Senior Players Championship in Pittsburg.

The US Senior Open is being staged at the Omaha Golf Club course in Omaha, Nebraska.
