Phillip Price of Wales received a bottle of champagne for each yard of his 168-yard hole-in-one at the par three, 11th hole on day one of the Barclays Scottish Open.
That’s 168 bottles of bubbly for his 8-iron shot.
The former Ryder Cup star was naturally thrilled to be rewarded with 168 bottles of Laurent-Perrier champagne.
“This is a lovely prize, and I am sure my wife Sandra and I will enjoy the champers,” he said.
“It was nice to make a hole in one in competition for a change and even better to watch it bounce once and drop into the cup.”
And while Price has had a good few aces in his career, it was his first ever in European Tour competition.
