Sergio Garcia Just Four From BMW PGA Lead & Thanks To Supportive Wentworth Fans

Sergio Garcia is just four shots from the lead with round to play in the BMW PGA Championship and thanks to the Wentworth fans.

After the bitter embarrassment of his ‘fried chicken’ remarks earlier in the week, Garcia had considered withdrawing from the flagship tournament.

But with the encouragement and support of some the more knowledgeable fans in golf, the Spaniard continues to impress after a 68 to be in an eight-way share of sixth place on five under par tally.

“I played my best golf all week today and it was nice to post a decent score,” he said.

“There’s no doubt that everybody had made this week easier for me. The crowds here, I don’t have words to explain what I feel towards them.

“They have been amazing, at every single tee, every single green, cheering me on.  I can never pay them back.”

Garcia will play the final round in the company of Italy’s Edoardo Molinari and teeing off at 12.45pm local UK time.
