Bubba Watson was a guest tonight (Tues) on CNN’s Piers Morgan’s show declaring the only way of beating Tiger Woods at next week’s Masters is if the 14-time Major winner ‘gets sick’.
Watson was first interviewed by Morgan in the days after last year’s Masters play-off success over South African Louis Oosthuizen.
However Watson’s yet to taste success since winning at the second extra play-off hole.
And when asked by Morgan how do you beat Woods next week, considering he’s won three times this year including the back-to-back WGC – Cadillac Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational, Watson responded (tongue in cheek): “Hopefully, he gets sick.
“But really, I don’t think anyone knows how to beat him, and it’s just going to be one of those things where we are going to go out there and play our best and I will try to play my best and hopefully it is good enough to beat him.
“Hopefully, he is not at his best.
“But my own form is good and it just takes the right bounces and making some putts.
“But right now Tiger is just playing so good. He’s making all the putts and his mental game is strong and he’s right where he needs to be in performing. He’s back to No. 1 in the world again, so he’s going to be tough to beat at Augusta.”
Of course, Morgan touched on a number of issues in Watson’s life that has long been known by those involved in golf including the adoption of a child shortly after his win, purchasing Woods’ former Isleworth Estates residence and reuniting with the Golf Boys.
However Morgan had initially asked Watson about a new fad that he would love to see introduced to golf and that’s a hovercraft type golf buggy that’s been designed by Oakley.
“We came up with this idea of building a hovercraft and lets change this game of golf a little bit and make it crazy. so it was fun to do,” said Watson.
“It was scary to drive it as I only had five minutes learning how to drive it but then I figured out how to drive it.
“It lets you have fun on the golf course by hovercrafting around and golf will just get in the way.”
