“Follow in Rory’s footsteps, the Northern Ireland way”.
That’s the message from one Northern Ireland tourist body who have wasted little time cashing in on Rory McIlroy’s U.S. Open success.
Golf Vacations Ireland is offering golfers a package to play courses in Northern Ireland pivotal in McIlroy’s path to a Major Champion.
They include such Irish links gems as Royal Portrush where McIlroy produced a course record-breaking 61, Royal County Down where he represented GB & I in the 2007 Walker Cup and Loch Erne, the club McIlroy represents on Tour.
The seven-day intinerary includes six rounds of golf, six nights accommodating and transport.
Price per person is from $1,435 or $US 2,295.
Then there’s the chances for serious golfers to take part in the Great North Links Challenge taking place from 5th to 7th October.
You can play six rounds at Royal Portrush, Royal County Down and stay at the famed Bushmills Inn and the Slieve Donald Hotel that looks out over Royal Co. Down.
Price per person is from £1,225 or $US 1,950.
