Rory McIlroy Under The Spotlight Playing Alongside Tiger Woods At Cadillac

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy will be right under the spotlight in playing alongside World No. 2 Tiger Woods and current World No. 3 in Thursday’s starting WGC – Cadillac Championship.

Organisers of the $8.75m championship have grouped the world’s top-three ranked players together for the first two days of competition on the Blue Monster course at Doral.

McIlroy continues to draw debate over his actions despite since releasing two formal statements over his actions last Friday when after eight holes, and crashing to seven over par for his round, the 23-year old informed his playing partners, Ernie Els and Mark Wilson, he’d had enough.

And while McIlroy only played 26 holes last week at Palm Beach Gardens this week’s no cut tournament will mean McIlroy has nowhere to hide over 72 holes should, he of course, elect to play all four rounds.

McIlroy is set to attend a pre-Cadillac Championship at 9am Wednesday morningĀ  Miami time when his actions last week are surely set to dominate the conference.

Other groupings include:-

Webb Simpson, Sergio Garcia and Graeme McDoewll

Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson and Steve Stricket

Defending championn Justin Rose, Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott

Charl Schwartzel, Keegan Bradley and Jason Dufner
