Rory McIlroy Abandons Nike Putter As Craig Lee Sings Praise Of Odyssey Versa Putter.

While Rory McIlroy handed Nike a huge embarrassment in ditching his new Method putter Scotland’s Craig Lee was singing the praise of his new Odyssey Versa putterfter finishing just one shot outside a top-10 finish in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Lee packed the putter into new Callaway bag and post a final round 67 for a seven-under par tally.

The Stirling golfer collected his first pay cheque of the year of £25,658 after sharing 17th place on seven under par and just a shot outside the top-10.

Lee had just 27 putts thanks to a decision to pack the Versa putter to share of 17th place.

“I putt the Odyssey Versa putter in the bag in practice and it’s stayed there all week,” said Lee.

“I had been using a mallet head but this more traditional putter just lines up really well.

“I don’t have many putter in my collection but then considering the amount of time I’ve struggled with the putter I probably should have had more”.

Lee moves on to this week’s Commerical Bank Qatar Masters hoping the Odyssey putter can help him to bank a bigger prize cheque in Doha.
