Happy Birthday Jack Nicklaus … Golden Bear Turns 73.

Legendary Jack Nicklaus today (Monday – January 21st) celebrates his 73rd birthday and www.golfbytourmiss.com wishes the Golden Bear a very happy birthday.

Jack William Nicklaus was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1912 to his pharmacist father, Charlie and mother, Helen.

Nicklaus is golf’s greatest Major winner having clinched 18 Major Championships – 6 Masters, 4 US Opens, 3 Opens and 5 PGA Championships.

And in a remarkable twist Nicklaus celebrates his 73rd birthday having captured 73 PGA Tour titles and it was only last year Tiger Woods beat that record and moving to 74 in capturing Nicklaus’ own event, the Memorial.

Nicklaus also holds the outright record for the most wins at the Masters with six, and the Players Championship with three.

He played on six USA Ryder Cup teams, captained the team twice and the Presidents Cup team four times, and topped the PGA Tour money list and scoring average eight times each.

For 24 straight seasons, from 1960 to 1983 inclusive, he made at least one top ten finish in a major championship, and this is a record.
