Wozniacki Squeezes McIlroy’s Lemons As World No. 1 Suffers Sunstroke.

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy had his lemons squeezed by girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki as he battled sun stroke in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

McIroy posted a second round 67 before being joined by Donald who birdied the last in a score of 68.

Joining the trio is Scotland’s Marc Warren, currently ranked 189th in the world, who carded a 67 and will play alongside McIlroy on day three of the $8m event on the Earth Course.

McIlroy battled the after effects of sun stroke but still shone brightly in managing six birdies as he eased closer to a fifth victory this season.

But thanks to the girlfriend come-nurse Wozniacki, McIlroy is confident he’s shaken the concern.

“I guess it’s my Irish skin as I’m just not used to this sort of sun, and that’s my excuse,” he said.

“Caroline made me a glass of lemon juice, squeezed about five lemons into a glass and I took that, and I then had some sort of vitamin and mineral drink, too.  That made me feel a little better.

“So I’ll take a couple of pain-killers tonight and I should be okay in the morning but then with the anti-doping and all that, I can’t really take too much.”
