Medinah winning hero, Justin Rose has called on the European Tour to take the Ryder Cup captaincy vote out of the hands of the Players Committee given an apparent bias against 2014 candidate, Paul McGinley.
McGinley will walk into the committee room next January in Abu Dhabi with at least four fellow members, in the 15-man committee, against him replacing Jose Maria Olazabal for Gleneagles.

They include 2014 captaincy rival Darren along with fellow ISM clients Richard Finch and David Howell along with another committee member who it is believed is clearly is against McGinley getting the vote.
It’s for this reason Rose, in the interests of fair play, sees the worth in taking the decision out of the hands of the Committee.
“It makes sense that some in the committee might want to vote for Darren but then the Ryder Cup is very, very important to the European Tour and making the right decision and the right call is critical because of how much the European Tour benefits from having the Ryder Cup in its possession,” said Rose.
“So those members on the Committee must have that professional opinion of who would be best for the Tour.”
And Rose, who won three out of five points in Chicago, believes that with so many on the committee never having played in a Ryder Cup that current members of the Ryder Cup team should have more a say in any new European captaincy vote.
“The guys who have played in recent Ryder Cup’s should have more of a say than those who haven’t played a Ryder Cup as they do know what is needed and required in future captains,” said Rose.
“My view is that Darren would be the best candidate for America in 2016 as he is very popular there and the crowd would love him.
”It seems the sentiment is that for 2014 it’s Paul’s turn and 2016 it should be Darren’s turn as, in the view of many, he would be more of a charismatic captain in America.
“So I do think that if Paul did get it for Gleneagles he would have the support of all the players and we would be all very happy with that decision.
“And the outcome of the Ryder Cup is clearly influenced on having the right captain and that’s why Darren would be good for America in 2016 as he is more recognisable as the Americans seem to like that cigar smoking, having a good time ways.
“Paul would have all the support in the world back home in Europe for that home event in two years time.”
Rose tees up in this week’s $um WGC – HSBC Champions event currently lying in third behind the absent Rory McIlroy on the Race to Dubai.
Rose trails Euro 888,774 behind McIlroy and would go Euro 32,601 ahead of the World No. 1 with victory in Shenzhen.
“I can still win the Race to Dubai but then I’m also in Rory’s hands to certain extent and I have to win this week to give myself a chance of that,” said Rose.
However while McIlroy is competing over the next two weeks in Singapore and Hong Kong, Rose has next week off before heading to Australia for the following week’s Australian Masters and will not meet the World No. 1 to the season-ending event in Dubai.
