History Against Europe Coming From Behind To Retain Ryder Cup.

History is against the European Ryder Cup team dominating the Sunday Singles to retain the Ryder Cup.

Europe heads into the final day of the 39th Ryder Cup trailing 6 points to 10 and needing to win eight of the dozen matches to retain the gold trophy.

However since the change in the format in 1977 of the Sunday Singles the most points Europe has won in the intervening 17 Ryder Cup’s is 8 1/2 points at the K. Club in 2006 when Europe stormed to victory by nine points.

But that was when Europe led 10 1/2  to 6 1/2  heading to the last day rather than the current four points they trail the USA Team in Medinah.

Not one European Team has come from behind to snatch victory from the Americans.

Hereunder is a list of points led by heading to the Singles and the final outcome for Europe.
