Once again it’s BMW PGA Championship and the flagship event of the European Tour season.
Organisers have managed to assemble one of the best fields to gather at Wentworth for some time headed by the World’s top three ranked golfers in Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Martin Kaymer.
Also the current four Major Champions in Kaymer (US PGA winner), Graeme McDowell (US Open), Louis Oosthuizen (Open Championship) and Charl Schwartzel (Masters) will tee-up on the ‘Burma Road’ course.
It promises to bring record crowds to Wentworth.
However Wentworth also means the great delight in staying with Mollie (East) at her Pippins B & B in Egham, and just a short drive from the front gates of Tour HQ.
Mollie’s an absolute legend among the golf writers and while there’s only been around a half-a-dozen to 10 of the writers who’ve enjoyed her 7-star hospitality, it seems you’ve only got to mention her name in the in the Wentworth Media Centre and everyone has heard of Molllie.
But what they don’t know is that Mollie has a unique talent as the pictures show.
Mollie’s a marvellous cake decorator and during all the years we’ve been staying with her, there’s hardly been a year when she’s not decorating a cake for a wedding, an anniversary or a birthday.
On this occasion we arrived to find Mollie putting the finishing touches to a 65th birthday cake.
And it’s not had to work out that birthday boy Jim is an avid golfer.
