Jimenez & Hansen Involved In Heated Gleneagles Row.

The American Shaun Micheel once remarked he found the European Tour so ‘lively’ he was going to pack a pair of boxing gloves on his next visit.

Boxing gloves were nearly the order of the day when Miguel Angel Jimenez and Anders Hansen were involved in a heated row at their eighth hole during the second round of the Johnnie Walker Championship.

Hanson was observed taking a drop at the approach to the par three 17th hole that the pair were playing as the eighth hole.

But what next transpired was hardly the conduct becoming two of the world’s leading golf professionals.

One of the accredited photograhers out covering the match could clearly hear the word ‘cheating’ raised.

Then there was the sight of not one but two European Tour rules officials who arrived on the scene to sort out the heated situation.

As you can see from Joey Kelly’s  (www.golftourimages.com) exclusive photos Hansen and Jimenez looked in no mood for a fireside chat.

“I don’t know why Miguel had to get involved,” said Hansen.

“I had called a referee for a ruling but Miguel was so detemined to want to push his point of view.  There was no real need for him to involved in the manner he did.”

But then all credit to the European Tour pair as they were later observed shaking hands at the completion of their rounds.
