Aussie Scott Hend is proudly celebrating after capturing his maiden PGA Champions Tour title.
Queensland-born Hend stormed his way to a 19th pro career triumph, winning by five shots to claim victory at the 50th edition of the Trophy Hassan II in Morocco.
The win is the 52 year old Hend’s eighth victory on a different tour after having captured his maiden tour success in March 2003 on the Australian Von Nida Tour.
“It means the world to me,” Hend said.
Hend is now fully exempt on Tour through the 2027 season. Hend trailed by two shots with 10 holes to play in the final round, but a three-shot swing on the par-3 ninth – where Hend made birdie, and leader Tommy Gainey made double bogey – vaulted him into the tournament lead, which he never relinquished.
