Will Harrington Be Offered An Adare Manor Vice-Captaincy Role?

With news Luke Donald has chosen Edoardo Molinari as a first of his five 2027 European Ryder Cup vice-captains, the question now is who does Donald select as his other four Adare Manor right hand men?

For the 2023 Ryder Cup Donald chose as his vice-captains – Thomas Bjorn, Nicolas Colsearts, Jose Maria Olazabal and both Edorado and Francesco Molinari.

For this 2025 European side Donald selected – Thomas Bjorn, Alex Noren, Jose Maria Olazabal and again both Edorado and his older brother Francesco.

That’s four of the same players for both Ryder Cups and the only changes being Alex Noren for Nicolas Colsaerts.

With Edorado the first selected for his 2027 vice-captains you’d expect Donald will stick with Thomas Bjorn, Jose Maria Olazabal and Francesco Molinari.

And with the Ryder Cup being hosted in Ireland, and only for a second occasion in Ryder Cup history one might expect that Donald will not wish to alter the make-up of a winning vice-captaincy team, other than one player and as he done so for the two prior Ryder Cups.

So in over-looking both Nicolas Colsearts and Alex Noren who will he approach with the offer to join him at Adare Manor?

Surely, there can be only one choice that would further endear Donald to Irish Ryder Cup fans and that’s selecting  Harrington, captain of the 2021 European Team.

Of course, will Harrington be keen to accept such a role?

If not, Harrington then one would have to think maybe Justin Rose, ahead of Rose taking over the captaincy role for the 47th hosting in 2029 at Hazeltine.
