Bryson DeChambeau is shining brightly in the Rainbow Nation, taking a two-shot lead into the closing rounds of the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa tournament.
DeChambeau sensationally holed a 21-yard second shot for an eagle ‘2’ at the opening hole ahead of also grabbing seven birdies in a score of 65 and move to 14-under on the host The Club course at Stern City some 40 klms from the capital Johannesburg.
The double-major’s only mishap was a bogey at the sixth and a double on 12.
DeChambeau had ended a 10-month victory drought last week at LIV Golf Singapore and now like the ole No. 272 bus, the very popual American is in the front seat to win again.
Spaniard David Puig added a 64 to be sharing second place at 12-under with local hero Branden Grace was signed for a 66.
