Rory’s Boston Common Team Looking For A Triple Victory Treat In Tonight’s Florida Clash

After Sunday’s disappointment in California, World No. 2 Rory McIlroy will be looking for a third win in succession in tonight’s next series of TGL matches in the Sunshine State of Florida.

McIlroy’s Boston Common team take on the Atlanta Drive side at the SoFi Centre in West Palm Beach.

The top two teams in the SoFi Cup Standings face each other in the first match of a doubleheader, getting the party started for a stretch of four matches in two days with back-to-back doubleheaders.

Atlanta Drive GC is currently in first place via tiebreakers, while Boston Common Golf is unbeaten so far.

Both teams have won exactly 15 holes on the year, which serves as the first tiebreaker to establish position in the Standings (the second tiebreaker is Singles Holes Won, which Atlanta leads over Boston 8 to 7).

Tonight’s Boston Common team includes McIlroy, Keegan Bradley and Michael Thorbjornsen while their rivals in the Atlanta Drive side include the impressively in-form Chris Gotterup, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay.

Atlanta won it all last season and Boston finished last, so there’s a lot on the line when the defending champs meet the rising Ballfrogs at 5 p.m US Eastern time.

Then Tuesday night, currently unbeaten Boston Common Golf will take on New York in their second match of the night, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

There will be a host of implications here depending on how the first three matches of the week shake out, but one thing is clear – this will be a season-defining week for Atlanta, New York and Boston, all of whom play two matches in a two-day stretch that could sink their chances or propel them towards the top of theĀ SoFi Cup Standings.
