The 2026 Champions Tour is back on the US mainland for the second event of the season and this week’s Chubb Classic being again staged on the Tiburon course in Naples.
Among the field is the Tour’s winningest player in Berhard Langer – 47 victories since a maiden Tour in late 2007.
And while there is again a number of newer 50-years plus players joining the field there is one notable now 50 years of age player that everyone is wondering: ‘Will he join the Tour?”
That player is none other than Tiger Woods, who turned 50 on December 30th last year but remains side-lined from official competition.
WOULD BE A THRILL TO COMPETE AGAINST @TigerWoods ….
Says Bernhard Langer when asked ahead of this week’s @ChubbClassic @ChampionsTour
“I hope he comes out. I hope he’s healthy enough”.

Of course, you’ve read reports how the individual Champions Tour tournament sponsors would welcome the sight of ‘TW’, while those out competing in the over-50 brigade have been expressing their delight should the 15-time major champion decide to make his Champions Tour debut.
One such player is Langer and asked by GolfByTourMiss if he would look forward to again competing alongside Woods. Of course, Langer and his son beat Woods and his son, the last time Woods competed and that was in the 2024 PNC Champsionship in suburban Orlando.
“I try to beat everybody. It doesn’t matter who comes out here,” said Langer.
“The goal is to win. If you want to win, you need to beat him. So yes, that would be the goal. But my goal is not to play against Tiger Woods; my goal is to play against the golf course and myself, shoot the lowest score, and then see if anybody can match that.
“If Tiger Woods is better, so be it. I’m sure we’re going to have some good matches. I hope he comes out. I hope he’s healthy enough. Nobody knows. He won’t let us know until a few weeks before. Usually that’s how he works. But it would be a thrill to play against him again.
“We had a great time about a year and a half ago when we played the PNC championship together on Sunday when he played with Charlie, his son, and I had Jason, my son, and we spent a Sunday together. We had a wonderful time and
enjoyed each other’s company”.
