Scott Jamieson was delighted to birdie his last hole and head to the weekend rounds for a first occasion on the new 2026 DP World Tour at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
Jamieson’s closing hole effort in his official second event of 2026 handed the Scot a level par 72 to remain at five-under and just outside the top-10 on the host Le Heritage La Réserve Golf Links at Heritage Bel Ombre on the southern tip of the stunning Indian Ocean isle.
Jamieson had ended a bruising windy and sometimes rain-lashed opening round sharing the clubhouse lead at five-under when poor light halted play leaving a few dozen players still to finish their round.

Day two dawned bright but with no let-up of the wind and periodic downpours.
Play got underway and Jamieson and South African Casey Jarvis soon confirmed as the official opening round leaders on five-under after all players had ended round one.
Jarvis jumped straight into the second round in blistering manner picking-up nine birdies in a seven-under 65 and forge his way to a two shot lead at 12-under.
Frenchman Alex Levy, who was lying third after day one, produced a second round bogey-free 66 to move into second place at 10-under.
In contrast, Jamieson bogeyed the first ahead brilliantly highlighting his round holing his third shot for an eagle ‘3’ at the par-5 fifth hole but only to give back the two shots back in posting a double at the next.
He picked-up at first birdie of his round at the 12th but bogeyed 16 before the delight of heading to lunch with a birdie on 18.
“Tee to green, today was pretty similar to yesterday but I just didn’t score that well today compared to yesterday though saying that, I just wasn’t able to carry any momentum from one hole to the next,” said Jamieson who had missed the cut at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in Joburg.
“So maybe a little disappointing but then I birdied the last to chalk up a level and that’s good.
“The course is a different challenge to last week as there is so much space out there but if you miss the space then you’re in big trouble.
“Saying that, I like it as it does reward good ball striking tee-to-green because you are presented with a lot of opportunities out there.
“So, it’s a good start over these first rounds and looking forward very much to the weekend”.
Fellow Scot Cameron Adam signed for a second par 72 to be just inside the top-50 at level par.
Euan Walker was in the later stages of his second round though struggled with an horror eight-over tally and miss the Mauritius halfway cut by seven shots.
