Scotland’s rookie pro Sebastain Sandin is also all smiles in securing full 2025/26 season MENA Tour status after posting a third and closing round 72 to end in a three-way tie for second place.
The 23-year-old Dunblane golfer birdied the first but then dropped four shots from the fourth to eighth holes ahead of a 12th hole birdie and five closing pars and a level par tally on the host Troia course in Portugal.
Sandin’s top of the board effort will ensure full access to all 13 MENA Tour events from next week through to the last week of March 2026.

Sandin, who impressed throughout the week with his ability to handle tough conditions, relished the opportunity to play alongside Wood in Saturday’s final group.
“It was great to play with Chris; he was very kind to me and Will (Marshall), and it was great to see the type of golf that he plays up close and how he approaches the game and how it differs from mine,” said Sandin, who along with Marshall and Calvet earned their Tour cards for the upcoming season.
It will now ensure a ‘full’ year long schedule for the Scot ahead of an eventual career step onto the DP World Tour.
In June last year Sandin enjoyed huge success winning as an amateur on the Scottish Tartan Tour with his two shot success at the Cardrona Classic.
A few weeks later the now 23-year turned pro.
England’s Chris Wood was in a Portugal class all his own with the three-time DP Wold Tour winning and 2016 European Ryder Cup star posting a six-under tally and the only player to be under-par for the three rounds.
It is 37-year old Wood’s first win since the 2016 BMW PGA Championship.
Ireland’s Alex Maguire and Germany’s Max Schmitt shared fifth place at two-over-par as the Q School concluded with the top 50 finishers earning Category 3 Tour cards for the full 2025-26 season.
Those who didn’t finish in the top 50 received Category 9A cards, granting them entry into the first two events of the season in Portugal.
As mentioned above the Tour moves immediately into competitive action with the PGA Aroeira Challenge (25-27 November), where Wood will line up again as the season officially begins.
The Rolear Algarve Classic at Amendoeira follows on 2-4 December before the Tour heads to Egypt for a four-event swing in January and February.
With guaranteed $100,000 prize funds, 48-hour payouts and Official World Golf Ranking points on offer throughout the season, the MENA Golf Tour continues to position itself as a vital development pathway for emerging professionals and a credible platform for established players seeking to rebuild momentum.
