Clumsy Last Hole Bogey Sees MacIntyre’s Lead Cut To One Heading Final Round Valero Texas Open.

A clumsy last hole three-putt bogey has seen top-ranked Scot Robert MacIntyre’s lead cut to just one shot heading now to the final round of the rain-affected Valero TexasOpen.

MacIntyre had led by four shots teeing-up on Saturday morning for golf’s traditional ‘Moving Day’ but there was no movement at all from noon onwards by any of the 70 players to have made the halfway cut in the $US 8.9m event being staged on rain-drenched TPC San Antonio course in the Alamo City.

Noon is when play was halted on Saturday and despite hopes of getting back out onto the course, it never happened and with officials ruling out any further on-course action near 6pm Saturday.

No such concern on day four with all players gettting back out to resume their third round.

Play officially ended for round three at 11.19am local time when MacIntyre horribly three-putted from just seven feet for bogey at his 18th and in a round of an even par 72 to only now lead by a shot at 14-under.

The foursome of Ludwid Aberg (69), Andrew Putman (67), Michael Kim (66) and Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune (67) officially ended the third round tied in second place at 13-under.

AND no sooner had Hisatsune ended his third round and he’s birdied the first hole of his fourth and final round to join MacIntyre tied for the lead on 14-under.

MacIntye is still 15 minute shy in typing this of teeing-up in his final round at 12.01pm San Antonio time.

The Scot is seeking a third PGA Tour victory and if successfull, he’ll be the third lefty in succession to do so.
