Fitzpatrick Brothers Rule The World – Matt Wins Valspar & Now Alex Captures Indian Open

Talk about keeping it all in the family as this is exactly what the Fitzpatrick brothers have done.

A week after elderly brother Matt brilliantly captured the Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour and his younger brother has broken through to win a maiden DP World Tour success after his emphatic success at the Hero Indian Open.

The 27-year-old Alex is four years younger than Matt with the proud golfing family celebrating a double Fitzpatrick back-to-back success, and this despite Alex posting a 72nd hole double bogey.

Alex headed into the final round of the Indian Open trailing four shots behind third round leader Eugenio Chacarra and with the 26-year-old Spaniard looking to successfully retain the title.

Fitzpatrick looked have spoiled any chance of a win when his bogeyed the third and fourth holes before finding all forward gears and then picking-up eight birdies from the sixth to 17th holes in storming past the struggling Chacarra.

However it was not the super proud finish that Fitzpatrick was hoping as he horribly doubled the last in a closing 69 but still good enough to win by two shots at nine-under.

Chacarra could manage just two birdies but also posted six bogeys in his shock round of a three-over 75 and tumble into second place on seven-under.
