Nine Of World’s Top-10 Teeing-Up ‘Asia’s Major’

 

The 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship is set to showcase one of the strongest fields in women’s golf, with nine of the world’s top 10 players confirmed to compete at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore from February 26 to March 1.

Headlining ‘Asia’s Major’ field are World No.1 Jeeno Thitikul (THA), World No. 3 and three-time major champion Minjee Lee (AUS), World No.4 Miyu Yamashita (JPN), World No.5 Charley Hull (ENG), and defending champion and World No.6 Lydia Ko (NZL).

Collectively, these players have amassed over 20 LPGA Tour titles including 4 major championships. Thitikul enjoyed a standout 2025 season, securing three victories, including the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship for the second consecutive year. Set to make her fifth appearance at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, the World No.1 boasts an impressive record at Sentosa, finishing inside the top 10 in all four previous starts, including a tied second place finish in 2025.

Thitikul said: “I’m really excited to return to Singapore for the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Sentosa Golf Club is such a special venue, and this tournament always brings together the strongest field in women’s golf. After finishing so close last year, I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully putting on a great show for the fans in Singapore.”

Also returning to Singapore is Yamashita, who impressed during her rookie season on the LPGA Tour last year, winning two titles including her maiden major at the AIG Women’s Open. The Japanese star will be making her second appearance at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, having finished T21 on her debut last year.

Further strengthening the world-class field, and making-up the nine major champs, are World No.7 Ruoning Yin (CHN), World No.8  Hyo Joo Kim (KOR), World No.9 Mao Saigo (JPN), World No.10 Sei Young Kim (KOR).

HSBC has been the title sponsor of the HSBC Women’s World Championship since its inception in 2008 and recently renewed its agreement for another five years, increasing both the prize money purse to $3 million and the field to 72 players. Of the event’s 17 past editions, 15 have been won by major champions, underscoring the tournament’s reputation as a showcase for the world’s elite golfers. The 2025 field featured players from 22 nationalities, including 19 major champions and 9 of the world’s top 10.

The 72-hole stroke play championship will once again take place on the widely acclaimed Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, hosting the event for the 12th time, and currently #2 on Golf Digest’s Best Courses in Singapore list. Sentosa continues to receive global recognition for its leadership in sustainable golf and championship venue status, with The Serapong recently being named Asia’s Best Golf Course and Singapore’s Best Golf Course at the 2025 World Golf Awards.
