Tiger Woods
- Tournament host will not compete at the Hero Worl.d Challenge as he continues to recover from lumbar disc replacement surgery in October.
- Tiger has won the Hero World Challenge five times (all at Sherwood Country Club), first in 2001 and most recently in 2011; last competed at the Hero World Challenge in 2023 (18th).
- The 82-time PGA TOUR winner last competed on TOUR at the 2024 Open Championship (MC).
Scottie Scheffler
- Two-time defending champion of the Hero World Challenge seeks to become the first to win three consecutive titles
- Making his first start on TOUR since winning the Procore Championship in September for his 19th career PGA TOUR victory and sixth of the season
- Winner of the Byron Nelson Award for Low Scoring Average (68.131); led the TOUR in Par 4 Scoring Average (3.89) and Bounce Back Percentage (36.36%)
- Recorded a TOUR-best 17 top-10s and did not miss a cut.
- Fifth appearance at Hero World Challenge (Won/2024, Won/2023, 2nd/2022, 2nd/2021)
- Never shot an over-par 18-hole score at the Hero World Challenge (12 rounds)
- 72-hole total of 263 in 2024 tied the tournament record since the event moved to Albany in 2015 (Bubba Watson/2015)
J.J. Spaun
- One of three players making their Hero World Challenge debut this week (Chris Gotterup, Andrew Novak)
- Seven top-10 finishes in 25 starts in 2025, including three runner-up results (Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, THE PLAYERS Championship, FedEx St. Jude Championship) and his second career PGA TOUR title at the U.S. Open
- Finished T25 in the FedExCup and made his first career appearance at the TOUR Championship
- Made two starts during the FedExCup Fall (6th/Procore Championship, T11/World Wide Technology Championship)
- World No. 6 ended the 2024 calendar year at No. 119 in the Official World Golf Ranking
- Ranked inside the top 10 in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (8th/1.045) and Strokes Gained: Approach the Green (5th/0.738) during the 2025 season
Keegan Bradley
- Eight-time PGA TOUR winner is making his first start on TOUR since finishing T7 at the TOUR Championship
- Six top-10 finishes in 2025, including his win at the Travelers Championship; has at least one victory on TOUR in each of the last three seasons
- Most recently competed in the “The Skins Game” on Nov. 28, collecting 11 skins worth $2.1 million to win in the return of the competition against Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and Xander Schauffele at Panther National Golf Club
- Making his eighth career appearance at the Hero World Challenge and fourth at Albany Golf Course; finished solo fifth in 2024
Hero World Challenge Notes
- The Hero World Challenge, an unofficial PGA TOUR event was first staged in 2000 as the Williams World Challenge. Indeed it was staged twice in 2000 first early in the year and won by Tom Lehman and then later that year with Davis Love 111 the winner.
- The event has been played annually following the FedExCup Fall and returns to Albany in the Bahamas for the 10th consecutive time, and 26th actual hosting overall.
- Past host venues include Grayhawk Golf Club (2000), Sherwood Country Club (2000-2013) and Isleworth (2014)
- 2014 Hero World Challenge champion Jordan Spieth joins Scottie Scheffler (2023, 2024) and Hideki Matsuyama (2016) as past champions in the field. Spieth is making his first start on the tour since the FedEx St. Jude Championship (T38); finished the FedExCup Playoffs at No. 54 in the standings and dropped to No. 61 by the conclusion of the FedExCup Fall
- Eleven of the 20 players in the field won a PGA Tour event in 2025: Keegan Bradley, Harris English, Chris Gotterup, Brian Harman, Hideki Matsuyama, Andrew Novak, Justin Rose, Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Sepp Straka, Cameron Young
- Andrew Novak (Zurich Classic of New Orleans) and Cameron Young (Wyndham Championship) both claimed their first career PGA TOUR titles in 2025
