In a year you’ve become only the sixth golfer to win the coveted Grand Slam and moments after earning confirmation of capturing a seventh Race to Dubai No. 1 title Rory McIlroy was quized about his family’s future dwelling in London.
It was reported soon after the Ryder Cup the McIlroy’s had outlayed £9million ($US 11.84 million) two years ago for a property on the exclusive Wentworth estate in leafy Surrey, and home also to the DP World Tour located just in the south-west of London.
Reading reports it’s said the six-bedroom mansion has been extended and revamped as the couple and their daughter, Poppy, look to relocate from Florida to the UK.
It was this question about his UK house plans that was asked in today’s post final round DP World Tour Championship, and with McIlroy having locked-in a seventh Race to Dubai No. 1 title but losing out on a fourth DP World Tour Championship trophy.

McIlroy was quizzed if he was intending to show off the Race to Dubai trophy in his London abode.
“We will see.” he said smiling.
“No, we didn’t — I don’t — look, I like to display my trophies but I like displaying them in places that aren’t prominent in the house.
“So the trophies in Wentworth are stuck in the basement. But it’s nice, I go in there and hit some balls or hit some putts. It’s nice to see them and get some inspiration from them.
“I think we were more concerned about the colour of Poppy’s bedroom than where my trophies were going (smiling)”.
