Top Scot Robert MacIntyre continues to impress posting a eye-catching 64 on day one of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
MacIntyre grabbed seven birdies around the host East Lake course to be sharing third place at six-under and only three adrift of Russell Hendley who leads the elite 30-player field on nine-under.
MacIntyre is again high up a leaderboard after last week’s superb effort in leading the BMW Championship for the opening three before losing out to World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in the heat of Memphis.
And there is no escaping the continuing summer heat this week in Atlanta with temperatures in the high 20s along with contnued heavy downpours as the event experienced on day one.

Of course, MacIntyre is a fair-skinned Scot having grown up in Scotland where sunburnt is not usually is a concern though the need to be sporting sunscreen is increasing in awareness and moreso for MacIntyre as he now plies his trade full-time on the PGA Tour.
And the question of the continuing heat was raised post MacIntyre’s round in Atlanta and when commented: “Yeah, it’s difficult. Look, I wear as much sun cream as I possibly can. I look like Casper the Ghost out there, to be honest. I get a lot of shouts about my sun cream.
“No, it is difficult, but it’s the same for everyone”.
Well said Bob and even back in his beloved Scotland, authorities should be doing much more to promote the use of sun screen to ward off and damage to skin being caused not only by the sun but also wind burn.
WHO IS CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST …
Casper the Friendly Ghost is a fictional character who serves as the protagonist of the Famous Studios theatrical animated cartoon series of the same name. He is a translucent ghost who is pleasant and personable, but often criticized by his three wicked uncles, the Ghostly Trio.
The character was featured in 55 theatrical cartoons titled The Friendly Ghost from 1945 to 1959. The character has been featured in comic books published by Harvey Comics since 1952, and Harvey purchased the character outright in 1959. Casper became one of Harvey’s most popular characters, headlining several comic book titles.
Following Harvey’s purchase of the character, he appeared in five television series: Matty’s Funday Funnies (1959–1961), The New Casper Cartoon Show (1963–1970), Casper and the Angels (1979), The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper (1996–1998) and Casper’s Scare School (2009–2012). The character made his theatrical film debut in a live-action adaptation of the series by Universal Pictures: Casper (1995), to where he became the first computer-generated character to star in a film. He would later appear in four direct-to-video and made-for-TV follow-up films.
