Field Update: FedExCup No. 5 Sepp Straka has withdrawn from the BMW Championship due to a private family matter.
Statement from Straka’s manager Butler Melnyk: “For personal reasons, Sepp is unable to play this week. He intends to compete at the TOUR Championship, but requests privacy at this time as he attends to a family matter at home.”

FedExCup and the FedExCup Playoffs
- The 2025 PGA TOUR Season marks the 19th edition of the FedExCup (established in 2007). The FedExCup is a season-long points competition which culminates with the FedExCup Playoffs, a series of three events to determine the FedExCup Champion
- The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings are eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs with the three events featuring a progressive cut with fields of 70 (FedEx St. Jude Championship), 50 (BMW Championship) and 30 (TOUR Championship)
- The FedExCup Bonus Distribution total is $100 million, with the FedExCup Champion earning $10 million
- The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings are fully exempt for all Full-Field Events and THE PLAYERS Championship in 2026
- The top 50 players are exempt for all Signature Events in 2026
- The top 30 players receive a two-year exemption and invitations to majors that traditionally recognize the top 30
