Three times aready this PGA Tour season England’s Tommy Fleetwood has gone so close to a maiden Tour win.
Now in the final PGA Tour event of the season Fleetwood has another chance capture a maiden Tour title sharing the lead, as he does with American Patrick Cantlay at the Tour Championship heading into the last day on the famed East Lakes course to the east of Atlanta.
Fleetwood and Cantlay, an eight-time PGA Tour winner and 2021 Tour Championship champion, are out in the final group while Cantlay also would secure a spot in USA Ryder Cup side should he win. He’s currently lying 15th on the points table.
Fleetwood has secured his European Ryder Cup cap, so it’s the ‘W’ is all he is thinking about.
It all comes down to Sunday

And it was a question post the third round when he was asked a question earlier in the week at East Lake of ‘being his own best friend’ he was again asked about heading into the final day.
“I’ve caddied for my kids, and I know what I would say to them, and I think it’s all about being very clear with what you’re doing, having a great attitude, having a great frame of mind, make sure I’m telling myself all the right things and just commit to those things”, he said.
“Like I just said, there’s only 30 players this week. It could be 100, 150, whatever it is tees Sunday and in contention. That’s what everybody wants.
“I am lucky enough that I get to be one of those guys, so I’m having the time of my life out there and I’m playing great and I’ve got to enjoy it while it’s happening. You never know. Tomorrow might be my time, it might not, but I’ll still have a great time doing it.”
So well said, Tommy.
