Rose Leads GB&I To Team Cup Victory – How Many Will Go On To Play In Ryder Cup?

Justin Rose has led his GB&I team to victory in the Team Cup but how many will go onto qualify or be picked later this year for Luke Donald’s Ryder Cup defending European Ryder Cup side?

Rose’s men were never headed  having won the first two sessions by  3 1/2 points to 1 1/2 on Friday and then wrapped-up the Saturday afternoon’s foursomes 4-1 to lead 11 points to 4 going into Sunday’s singles.

England’s Tommy Fleetwood, and as he had done at the 2018 Ryder Cup in Versailles, secured his side victory thanks a dominant front nine against the also impressive Frencham Matthieu Pavon to win his match 3 & 1 and securd GB&I the 13 points it required for victory.

As such, Fleetwood won all four of his points across the week to embellish his formidable record in team events, said: “It obviously feels great, what an unbelievable group of lads we had this week and an unbelievable captain so just a pleasure to be a part of it.

“Everybody just played so well. I always find it very motivating and inspiring being around the lads in a team environment, you want to get the best out of yourself. Happy that we got it done this time and sure we’ll enjoy it later.”
