A full report of each of the 12 Singles matches that decided the outcome of the 41st Ryder Cup.
Patrick Reed defeats Rory McIlroy 1 Up
McIlroy drew first blood with a birdie at three but after Reed drew level in eagling the short par four fifth hole, the American was never headed. The pair then traded birdie for birdie, par for par and two occasions bogey for bogey.
Reed won the 12th with a par and then after a poor McIlroy approach at 16, went to 2up. McIlroy got one back at 17 with a par only for Reed to match McIlroy’s final hole birdie and win 1 Up. USA 10 ½ – Europe 6 1/2
Henrik Stenson defeats Jordan Spieth 3 & 2

Jordan Spieth about to be penalised and lose the 16th hole after deemed to have caused his ball to move.
Stenson secured the first point for Europe but in controversy when Spieth was deemed to have caused his ball to move in a water hazard at 16 and under the rules forfeited the hole.
Stenson had been 1 down right up until 7th hole. The Swede won nine and 11, lost 12 but then won 13 and the 16th with the penalty imposed on Spieth for a 3 & 2 victory. USA 10 ½ – Europe 7 ½
Thomas Pieters defeats J B Holmes 3 & 2
Pieters bogeyed the first to be 1 down and then 2 down when Holmes birdied two. The Belgian got back to all square at seven and then won seven and lost nine. Pieters then 11th and 14th with birdies and also birded the 16th to seal a 3 & 2 win. USA 10 ½ – Europe 8 ½
Rafa Cabrera- Bello defeats Jimmy Walker 3 & 2
After a birdie at the first the Spaniard was never headed against the current PGA Champ. ‘Rafa’ won the fourth to go 2 Up and stayed at 2 Up to losing the 12th. He then won 13 with a birdie and won the match at 16 when Walker bogeyed for a 3 & 2 victory USA 10 ½ – Europe 9 1/2
Rickie Fowler defeats Justin Rose 1 Up.
It took Fowler 16 holes to finally get his nose in front of the Rio Games gold medal winner when he birdied the 16th to go 1 Up. Rose had earlier won the first and remained 1 Up till he bogeyed 10. Fowler managed to hold on with two closing pars and capture his first Singles success. USA 11 ½ – Europe 9 ½
Brooks Koepka defeats Danny Willett 5 & 4
Willett’s nightmare Ryder Cup ended on the 14th green with fellow rookie Koepka storming back from 1 down after five holes and kick-start victory with an eagle at seven. Koepka then won nine, 10 and 11. The duo halved 12 with pars before Willett’s race was run losing 13 to a bogey and with Koepka closing it out 5 & 4 at the next. USA 12 ½ – Europe 9 ½
Brandt Snedeker defeats Andy Sullivan 3 & 1
Sullivan began well with a first hole birdie and then 2 Up after three but it was the high-water mark of his challenge losing the fourth and fifth to Snedeker. The American then won seven and eight with birdies and while losing nine, ‘Sneaker’ then sealed victory winning 12 and then a birdie at 17 USA 13 ½ – Europe 9 1/2
Sergio Garcia halves with Phil Mickelson.
Garcia won the first but found himself down 1 down at both the fourth and seventh holes. The Spaniard got back to 1 Up at 11 but lost to Mickelson birdies at 12 and 14. Garcia birdied 16 to get back to even and with both then birding the last two to end all square. USA 14 – Europe 10.
Moore handed the USA Team there first Ryder Cup win since 2008 when Westwood bogeyed the last to leave Westwood winless for the week. Moore had doubled the first but won three and five to go 1 Up. Westwood did birdie nine and also 14 to go back to 1 Up but the lost the last two. USA 15 – Europe 10.
Zach Johnson defeated Matthew Fitzpatrick 4 & 3
Fitzpatrick, and the youngest player in both sides, was never ahead against the double Major winning Johnson. ‘Fitzy’ did get even at eight but lost the next two before last year’s Open champ birdied the 15th to seal success. USA 16 – Europe 10.
Wood got off to a flyer birding the first three against the top-qualifying Johnson but from losing the sixth with a birdie it was all red numbers. Johnson stamped his class winning eight and 10 while losing 14 with a bogey and 16 to a Wood birdie, ‘DJ’ held on for the point. USA 17 – Europe 10.
Martin Kaymer defeated Matt Kuchar 1 Up.
Kaymer holed the winning putt in 2012 and also the last putt of the 2016 Ryder Cup with a par for a 1 Up win over Matt Kuchar. The German had been down right up until ‘Kuch’ bogeyed the 13th. He then won the 15th with a birdie to then hold only Europe’s fourth full point.
