Paul Casey Confesses He’d ‘Stash The FedEx Cup $10m Prize Cash’.

East Lake, Atlanta, GA … England’s always affable Paul Casey declared he’d ‘stash’ the $US 10m cash if he captured this week’s season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Casey, who’s won close to $US2m in the past two PGA Tour events in finishing runner-up on both occasions, would walk away with $US1.5m in winning at East Lake along with the £10m FedEx Cup bonus prize.

If so, Casey would be the first Brit to win in the 10-year history of the elite 30-player field.

“I’d stash the cash away given my house in England is now not worth nothing because of Brexit, and besides I’ve lost enough money over the years, so I’d keep it,” he said.

Casey will be contesting the first round of the season-ending event in the company of Rory McIlroy, and the player who came from behind in Boston to deny Casey the rich Deutsche Bank first prize pay out.

Then in Indianapolis Casey took on Dustin Johnson down the stretch to grad his second straight second place finish in the BMW Championship.

And Casey says he’s looking forward to tackling McIlroy over the opening East Lake round, and with all players teeing-up in order of their standing on the FedEx Cup points table.

“It’s going to be cool as there’s no such thing as a bad pairing this week,” said Casey.

“Rory’s he’s the one guy with the most firepower out here when he’s playing his best.

“We get along great. We had a good chat after Deutsche Bank. He played an amazing round of golf there, and it’s going — yeah, I think it’s a great pairing.

“Pairings have a lot to do with it, you know that. I’ve had a good run here with being near the top after the first round.

“Also Rory’s a guy who plays quickly, plays well, makes birdies so all I have to do is tag along on his coattails.”
