A very big happy birthday to Arnold Palmer.
‘The King’ turns 87 (Sept 10th) today but with the seven-time Major Champion clearly not in the best of health.
Palmer turned pro in 1954 winning 95 times around the globe including 62 victories on the PGA Tour up until capturing his last main Tour tile – the 1971 Bob Hope Desert Classic to make him the fifth all-time greatest.
His last pro success was in the 1988 Crestar Classic on the Seniors Tour while ill health saw him side-lined as a ceremonial starter at this year’s Masters.
