Dustin Johnson Lights Up Royal Troon Press Conference With His Laid-Back Demeanour.

Reigning US and WGC – Bridgestone champ, Dustin Johnson lite up his Royal Troon press conference with his trademark laid-back demeanour.

Johnson had been due to be present at 1pm in the Royal Troon Media Centre but when seen headed towards the first tee at 12.30pm he was approached only to say he thought he was hosting the media at 3pm.

And when Johnson finally arrived at 3pm he answered some 40 questions that stretched over three pages in the official ASAP transcript.

However most of Johnson’s answers were the usual short sharp sentences and proving once again, and even with a first Major Championship under his belt, you’re not going to get a long fireside chat with the American.

Dustin Johnson again his laid back best on the eve of the 145th Open.

Qn:  You described it as a monkey off your back winning at Oakmont?

Ans:  I did, for sure

Qn:  How’s that monkey now?  Where have you put him?

And:  He’s good.  He’s riding in the bag now.

Qn:  Does the level of attention toward you and the level of interest in you now that you’re a Major winner, has it been difficult to manage?

Ans:  I haven’t noticed

Qn:   Really?

Ans: No, it doesn’t bother me at all.

Qn:  Has there been any more attention on you back home?

Ans: I get a lot more questions from you guys.  That’s about it.

Qn:  Is there a key trait with American golfers that perhaps suit this course?

Ans:  I have no idea.  I like the golf course.

Qn:  Do you think if you bring your best stuff you’re going to win/

Ans:  If I have my best stuff, I believe so.

Qn:  The Scottish Open is to be played at Dundonald next year and close to here.  Is there a chance you might play?

Ans:  Yeah, I’d consider it, for sure

Qn:   Jason Day talks about the stress of being World No. 1. Do you think you might be stressed if you get to No. 1?

Ans:  I don’t know. I’ll let you know when I get there.
