Danny Willett Now Back To Work & Back In The States 32 Days After Masters Triumph.

It will be 32 days since his Masters triumph when Danny Willett returns to work on Thursday to tee-up in the Players Championship.

In this period Willett’s life has forever becoming a father and being fitted with a Masters green jacket.

Also in this time Willett has wowed his native England and in particular Sheffield and surrounds in the aftermath of his stunning three shot triumph at Augusta National.

However that all changes on Thursday when he steps onto the first tee at TPC Sawgrass as the 2016 Masters Champion.

Twelve months ago Willett was among a handful of rookies gathered in the now traditional pre-tournament outdoor interview session at Ponte Vedre.

There he spoke of his uncertainly, after having finishing third in the WGC – Dell Match-Play Championship to Rory McIlroy, in whether he wanted to compete full-time in the US.

“I’ve still got three Majors and a few WGCs to play this season and because of my temporary PGA Tour status it doesn’t qualify me for the FedEx Cup unless I win,” said Willett a year ago.

“So it is probably a better idea to remain playing in Europe this year.

“I’ve still got a good way in catching Rory (McIlroy) and I would say that is more the main aim for the rest of the season and I can do that by playing well in the Majors and the WGCs.

“That also will help towards the Race to Dubai back home and then at the end of the year I will sit down with Chubby (Chandler – ISM manager) and kind of decide how things pan out”.

Things have panned out pretty well for the 28-year old and he can surely thank Chubby Chandler as his guiding light not only over the past month but ever since turning pro eight years ago.
