Rory McIlroy roared a huge ‘Game On!’ to Jordan Spieth as a golfing showdown looms over the final two rounds of the Masters at Augusta National.

McIlroy brilliantly clawed his way to reach of his Texas-born rival on the back of a gutsy one under par 71 for a three under tally in condition bright but very windy conditions.

And with 36 holes to play, it has set-up a ‘much-watch’ showdown between a player looking to win a second straight green jacket and a curly-haired opponent desperate to have Spieth help into golf’s most sought after item of apparel.

McIlroy got his round off a flyer sending a booming 350-yard drive down the second and then two-putting for birdie from 65-feet.
