European Tour CEO, Keith Pelley has every reason to be thrilled Danny Willett won the Masters.

“Danny’s win is a hugely significant victory for the European Tour going forward, it’s absolutely brilliant,” said Pelley.

“It was a really great day with so many of our members doing well and then Danny coming through to win was the icing on the cake.

“What a way to end the European run without a win.

“And Danny is going to be playing in the Irish Open and the BMW PGA and Switzerland, and the French Open and that’s fabulous for us.

“I’ve only known Danny a short period of time but he’s always impressed me not just as a golfer but as a person. It was stunning the way he achieved his victory.”
