Here is a fact you won’t see in any of the post third round PGA Tour notes.

In scrolling down to the tail of the field on the Players Championship leaderboard there is eight players in the bottom 21 in the $US 10m event who between them boast 28 Major Championship titles.

They include:

T55th – Charl Schwartzel (2011 Masters)

65th – Graeme McDowell (2010 US Open)

T66th – Louis Oosthuizen (2010 Open)

T68th – Tiger Woods (14 Majors), Padraig Harrington (2007 & 2008 Open, 2008 PGA Championship), Ernie Els (1994 & 1997 US Open, 2002 & 2013 Open), Vijay Singh (1998 & 2004 PGA Championship, 2000 Masters).

T73rd – Webb Simpson (2012 US Open).
