Former USA President George H. Bush was a special guest during the second round of the 2015 Shell Houston Open.

The 41st President of the United States was conveyed by motorised cart to the first tee where he had the pleasure of meeting eventual second round leader, Phil Mickelson as well as Mickelson’s fellow Major winning Ernie Els.

Bush also caught up with leading Texas-born golf journalist Art Striklin and with Art getting in next week’s Masters mode with an eye-catching shirt.

Bush, who is now aged 90, was President of the United States from 1989 to 1993.

The Texas-born Bush and his wife, Barbara were honored two years ago at this event.

Bush’s visit comes after his former Secretary of States James Baker, and a Houston native, competed in Wednesday’s Pro-Am alongside Rickie Fowler.
