Sweden’s exciting Jonas Blixt moved a ‘shirt’ closer to hopeful Ryder Cup selection in being measured for Gleneagles attire.
Blixt, who turned 30 late last month, is among 30 players on the European Team point’s table facing the tailors during this week’s PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Blixt, who was joint runner-up in last month’s Masters, is currently ranked 19th overall and 10 spots outside of qualifying automatically for Paul McGinley’s side.

And Blixt has entered next week’s Nordea Masters at Malmo in Sweden to further boost his goal of breaking into the European Team.
“They didn’t have my size because I am expecting a huge size if I make the Ryder Cup team,” he said laughing.
“That’s only because I am planning to build up my biceps a lot more before September.
“But seriously it was exciting to be measured by the tailor because it’s like moving closer to making the European Team, and being there in the room today is like you have a bit more of a chance in making the team.
However the Ryder Cup is still over four months away so you can’t get ahead of yourself, so I need to continue playing hard and working hard and if it happens, it happens.
“It’s the second time in my career I’ve been to the tailors as I was fitted out for clothing when I played in the Palmer Cup in both 2007 and 2008.”
And Blixt has reaffirmed, and as reported some time ago by www.golfbytourmiss.com, an intention of contesting this year’s Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen and where he played as an amateur some seven years ago.
“I played the Scottish Boys at Royal Aberdeen in 2007, and all I remember is that the first tee shot is beautiful, looking over the North Sea,” he said.
“It’s a tough golf course, very linksy, and that’s very good coming into a British Open.
“But just to get acclimatised to the links style of golf, the weather and stuff like that will be good.
“It’s an exciting time to play those tournaments, links golf is always so much different and I am looking forward to both the Scottish and the British Open.”
