Double Major winning Rory McIlroy has paid $2.25m for a vacant piece of Florida real estate.
It’s understood McIlroy paid the amount for the vacant waterfront lot located right next to his Old Gate neighbourhood mansion at Palm Beach Gardens.
The piece of land is just shy of an acre and not that big when it comes to other blocks in the exclusive Florida estate.
The land is adjacent to the north side of McIlroy’s breathtaking abode in the cul-de-sac of Old Gate Lane.
It is not sure what McIlroy will do with the land though one suspects McIlroy he might turn it into a short-game practice area.h
He already has a putting green in his present house that in December he spent $9.5 million on the 10,000-square-foot piece of Sunshine State land.

Rory McIlroy spends $2.25m on vacant Flordia land right next to his palatial West Palm Beachs Gardens abode.
