Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki have retreated to Monaco after their combined Irish Open and Wimbledon disappointment.
The duo are based in the Monte Carlo apartment owned by Wozniacki and licking their respective sporting wounds.
On Saturday Rory wrote: “Can’t wait to get home to Monaco tomorrow with @CaroWozniacki! #sunseaandpractice”
Caroline replied: “@McIlroyRory don’t forget to pick me up on the way;) lol.. Home sweet home!”

Wozniacki cites Monaco as her official residence while Rory’s base is now Palm Beach Gardens, Florida having sold his palatial Belfast abode.
No doubt, McIlroy will head up into the mountains overlooking the principality and work on his game at the Mont Agel club and host from 1984 to 1992 of the Monte Carlo Open.
McIlroy will next week head to Muirfield and get his first look at this year’s Open Championship venue.
McIlroy missing the Irish Open halfway cut with disappointing scores of 74 and 72 and while he was spotted in the rain and wind on Saturdayat Carton House working on his game before heading south to the sunshine.
But after missing the cut he admitted to feeling ‘lost’ and again disappointed with his Nike Convert driver in continuing to struggle finding fairways.
Wozniacki was in an upbeat mood about receiving support from fans after her early departure from Wimbledon. Tweeting afterwards, she said: “Scan, treatments, scan, treatment, treatment, treatment.. #getfit.. Thanks for all the support tweeps!”
