Tiger Woods Urges Everyone To ‘Move On’ Over Sergio Garcia Controversy

Tiger Woods declared it’s time to move on and stop talking about Sergio Garcia’s racially insenstive remarks during a European Tour awards dinner in London ahead of the BMW PGA Championship.

Woods was approached soon after the Pro-Am ahead of his defence of the Jack Nicklaus hosted Memorial in Ohio and asked if he had spoken to Garcia given Wood’s manager, Mark Steinberg said Woods would rather speak to Garcia face-to-face than over the phone.

Tiger Woods urges everyone to ‘move on’ over Sergio Garcia affair.

“It’s already done with,” declared Woods.

“Now, it’s time to move on.”

Woods and Garcia’s relationship, which has always been frosty, grew outwardly contentious following an incident during the third round of the Players Championship when the Spaniard suggested the 14-time Major winner pulled a club from his bag, causing an excitement among the crowd, while Garcia was about to play his shot.

The Golf Channel’s Steve Sands, and in many eyes, unnecessarily quizzed Garcia during last week’s gala dinner near Heathrow Airport if he would invite Woods around to his house during US Open week.

Of course, we now know Garcia’s response.

Garcia then issued an unreserved written apology to Woods ahead of an impromtu media conference where he apologises profusely to Woods.

On Wednesday at Muirfield Village, where he is preparing to defend his Memorial title, Woods was asked if he was surprised by the comment.

“I live it. It’s happened my entire life, my entire career,” he said. “It exists all around the world, not just in golf.”
