It’s still six days away from Rory McIlroy’s official signing with Nike but his new clubs have been revealed.
McIlroy is currently practicing at the Els Club in Dubai under the watchful eye of long-time coach, Michael Bannon.
www.golfcentraldaily.com managed to get a snap of McIlroy’s new Nike irons but what the snap did also reveal is that the double Major winning McIlroy looks to be set to continue to use the Scotty Cameron putter that earned him success in the 2011 US Open and 2012 PGA Championship.
His trusty Scotty Cameron putter sits alongside the Nike Method 001 putter. It’s rumoured McIlroy’s deal with Nike is for 13 clubs, allowing him the option of keeping his Major-winning Titleist Cameron putter in the bag. Tiger Woods had a similar arrangement with Nike.
The picture (with 15 clubs) shows Rory will be using the Nike VR II Pro blades, and will choose between a Pro Combo cavity back two-iron, a three and five wood.
You can see also there are 46, 50 and 54 degree wedges with the word “Rors” stamped on them.
The new Nike Covert driver is also in the bag.
Nike is set to herald McIlroy’s lucrative signing with the sports attire and equipment giant next Monday night in Abu Dhabi and ahead of McIlroy’s first event of 2013 – the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
