Africa National Congress 101st Anniversary Meeting Concern For Volvo Champions Organisers.

While many of Europe’s best golfers fight for a Euro 350,000 first prize cheque Volvo Champions officials remain anxious with an expected crowd of 70,000 to gather on Saturday in the close by Kings Park Stadium to celebrate the 101stanniversary of the Africa National Congress (ANC).

A temporary tournament practice range has been set up for players on two football fields beside the home ground of the Super 15 Natal Sharks rugby team.

Players, as can been seen in the photo below of Colin Montgomerie, hit over the two fields in the direction of the stadium.

But it is noise from a road running the length on west side of the Durban Country Club course that will be used by ANC supporters attending the celebration that is cause for some concern.

The 14th, 15th and 16th holes run the closest to Masabalala Yengwe Ave that dissects the course and the stadium.

Also a big police presence will be on hand but mainly to monitor crowd movement as no trouble is expected.
