Irishman Shane Lowry has had to be readmitted to a Dubai hospital as he strives to overcome a mystery virus.

Lowry withdrew from the season-ending DP World Tour Championship after first being hospitalised on Tuesday but continues to be able to keep anything down.

Horizon Sport’s Conor Ridge was heading back to hospital after McIlroy’s round to visit Lowry and with the uncertainty of when Lowry will be able to return home.

Lowry has entered the two events in South Africa next month, and the opening two tournaments of the 2013 Race to Dubai however Ridge was uncertain if Lowry will now go ahead and compete in them.
