Jose Maria Olazabal Shoots Best First Round Score In Four Years.

Victorious Ryder Cup captain, Jose Maria Olazabal upstaged the 11 members of his Medinah winning team with his best first round in four years on day one of the BMW Masters in Shanghai.

Olazabal, competing in his second event since leading Europe to an historic victory, didn’t drop a shot in a rain-affected opening score of a five-under par 67.

It is the Spaniard’s best first day score on the European Tour since posting a five under par 66 on the first day of the 2008 Castellon Masters, and an event hosted by Sergio Garcia and also the only member of his Medinah team not competing in Shanghai.
