Dustin Johnson Delights In Returning To The Dunhill Links Championship.

USA Ryder Cup star, Dustin Johnson has put aside the disappointment of Sunday’s shock Singles defeat to return to Scotland for this week’s $US5m Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Johnson was just one of three Americans to win their Singles match in defeating Belgium rookie, Nicolas Colsaerts 3 & 2.

The 28-year old American is contesting the ‘Celebration of Links Golf’ for a second straight year and again teaming with his brother, Austin in the pro-amateur format of the event being held at Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and the Old Course at St. Andrews.

“I’m looking forward to the week and it’s a great week’s golf as Johan (Rupert) does a great job with this event, and I get to play with my brother, so I’m excited about that,” he said.

“Last year we had a great time but then I wasn’t feeling so well and I didn’t play that great but while I missed the cut in the individual, we managed to make the cut in the team format and got to play the Old Course on Sunday with him.

“So this year I am looking forward to doing a bit better.

“I love links golf and especially playing here at St. Andrews and also at Kingsbarns and Carnoustie as they are three great golf courses.

“Though the Old Course always is a little strange without the grandstands that we’re used to for The Open.

“But hopefully the weather will remain like this for the week because at the moment this is fantastic for golf.

“So there’s no better place to be.”
